3. An unusual friendship between a man and a penguin
4 years ago, 71-year-old retired brick layer, Joao Pereira de Souza, found a Patagonian penguin, covered in oil on the beach near his home on Ihla Grande off the south east coast of Brazil. de Souza nursed the penguin, which he named Jingjing, back to health and every year since the penguin has returned to de Souza’s house for a two-week period. During his visits, the two walk on the beach together, surf and share a can of sardines. If that doesn’t make you feel warm and fuzzy, not much will!
